Right Living is Defined by Authentic Love (10-6-08)

The right living in Positive, Right Living is living by the right ways written in our conscience, which are always in agreement with the teachings of Jesus Christ in the four Gospels of the bible. Right living is further defined by the eight attributes of love described by Paul in Galatians 5:22 are, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control. The seven attributes of Authentic Love as described by Gary Chapman in Love as a Way of Life, are Kindness, Patience, Forgiveness, Courtesy, Humility, Generosity and Honesty.

Love is a very confusing word because it has so many definitions.

Love [luv] noun (plural loves)

1. very strong affection: an intense feeling of tender affection and compassion. (Young children need unconditional love.)

2. passionate attraction and desire: a passionate feeling of romantic desire and sexual attraction.

3. somebody much loved: somebody who is loved romantically. (He was her first real love.)

4. romantic affair: a romantic affair, possibly sexual

5. strong liking: strong liking for or pleasure gained from something. (His love of music.)

6. something eliciting enthusiasm: something that elicits deep interest and enthusiasm in somebody. (Music was his greatest love but he also liked ballet.)

7. beloved: used as an affectionate word to somebody loved.

8. U.K. term of friendly address: used as a friendly term of address, usually to a woman. (informal) (Here’s your change, love.)

9. Christianity: God’s love for humanity: the mercy, grace, and charity shown by God to humanity.

10. Christianity: Worship of God: the worship and adoration of God.)

11. sports game score of zero: a score of zero in sports and games, for example, tennis, squash, and whist.

There are two side to every coin, and there are two sides to Positive and Right.

There are two opposite sides to the ways of our conscience and the good side of the spiritual world verses the ways of the world and the ways of the evil side of the spiritual world. The things on each side of the great division are always reversed or opposite to the things on the other side. The ways of Positive, Right Living is in agreement with our conscience and the good side of the spiritual world, thus it is reversed or opposite to the positive, right ways of the world and the evil side of the spiritual world.

I was thinking of changing the name to Positive, Right, Loving Living, but authentic love is in complete agreement with right living, so love does not need to be added into the title. I have been striving for several years to define how best we should live, which I now call Positive, Right Living, but I am in no way locked into a final definition because I plan to keep modifying it for the rest of my life. Authentic Love is an integral part of Right Living, it is where the rubber meets the road.

Love is God, God is Love.

When we strive to align our lives with the one set of right rules that are written in our conscience and taught by the good side of the spiritual world, we are also aligning our life with God. The more we choose to live by the ways of God the more we can sense His great love for each of us. God does not love us more when we live by His ways, but we will then be eligible to receive God’s many blessings in this life as well as the next, but we still need to expect to be blest before we will ever realize the blessings. We can not truly generate love, at best we can only pass it along, thus until we learn to receive love form God, we will never have any love to pass along to others. Without the love of God, we are but clanging cymbals and ringing bells.
